Major rune rows are all derivations from the oldest and most frequently used in divinations, the Elder Futhark. Futharks, or Futhorcs are runic alphabets, and they are named by the first six pronunciation sounds of the rune rows, just as the original alphabet is named by the first two Greek letters - alpha and beta.
