The Cycle of the year has been
represented by - the glyph of the eight-spooked Sun wheel. There are the
four major seasonal festivals (Spring, March 21 or 22; Midsummer, June
21 or 22; Autumn Harvest , September 21; and Yule, December 25; and the
cross quarter days that come between them (the Vala's Vision or Lady Day,
February 2; Walpurgia or May Day, May 1; Lammas or " Hloafe- Mass",
August 1; and Halloween or "Specter Night" October 31).
Taken as a whole, the eight yearly rituals originally told the myth of
a semi divine king or hero,, his dark twin brother, and the Lady for whom
they are rivals- a symbolic representation of the way that all crops a
grow, ripen, die and are reborn anew;
The rites say clearly that all things are linked through all of the world
and through all of the universe.
There are many way to understand the seasonal rites ;I fell that through
such ceremonies we can open sources of power that allows one to draw some
fundamental energies of our biosphere.
But mostly giving tribute to all life, following the course of nature
laws understanding it's course.
All things are connected, and all things fall in the Web of the Wyrd.
Seasonal ceremonies are teachings into the wisdom of nature laws and that
was crucial far back when people use to live of the Earth.
Now everything is changed, we do not depend on the Earth to provide for
us.
We dictate how we want to live and not nature anymore..
We are damming our future by playing with nature for we may twist the
basic laws of nature and we may think we are the Gods in this moment but
one day we will feel its raft. For the truth is we can not survive without
it. We have unpurified all that was simple and beautiful, and the Earth
would have always made sure we lived a bountiful life, but we have tried
to prove to ourselves we are more mighty then Nature and we will pay for
our arrogance,,,, we are realizing this more each day that passes.
We have to return to the basic old ways of life if it is not to late now,,
but we must try.
Honor those things you take for granted, for without them you wouldn't
survive and now you still have it for free.
We do not pray nor do we wait for our destines to be reviled to us.
We must make the best of this life that was given.
Live proudly and honor the world around you, not only seeing your own
life, but the life that lives and breeds all around you.
Everything is connected and all wrong comes to your three times fold.
Everything wrong you do to nature you have to realize ,you are doing to
yourself.
This rituals are a try to reconnect to the Old Gods, to once again see
the world as it once was.
Once long ago when the rivers tasted like sweet honey, pure and cold.
When the sun shined so harmlessly and mellow,
When the winter carried it's big, soft white coat that hugged the Earth
in its crystal embrace..
When the creatures of the wild roamed free and so many in numbers,,
Let us remember the ancient tongue we use to speak with the Earth ,,
Try if only a whisper but do not shun your back to it,,
Once you brake the link in your heart it will be gone forever and never
to return.
To the pagan breed, and to all who live in this realms and do not pray
to some immaterial divinity outside our reach.
To you my dear brothers and sisters I do speak .
You are the ones that hold the destiny of this world and our ancient Gods
in your hands.
So get to know the wheel of the year, partake in a ritual, speak to the
nature that surrounds you,,,,
Do not keep saying you will start some other day, or that you feel you
are not still ready for performing rituals. You do not need a teacher,
nor do you need notes,,
The notes and words are inside you ,you just need guide lines that we
can provide for you if in request. Stand proud in front of your Gods,
and there is nothing to fear or to feel you will do wrong. All is simple
as life itself.
Clear you mind of all earthly problems, still your heart, just bread the
air and listen to your heart beat,,,, and in those moment of still you
will feel the Gods look upon you and that they are listening to every
word you will attribute to them.
There is no prayer, no magical words or formula.
Even if you have a copy of some rite,, those rites are written by people
just like you,, They are just words from the heart.
Of course you have to posses some basic knowledge of pagan tradition and
its deities but everything else is left for your own interpretation.
The ancient Germanic/ Norse year
was devised into two seasons; summer and winter.
Summer began at the festival of Eostre ,close to the spring Equinox and
winter began at the festival of Winternights, close to the Autumn Equinox.
Between two festivals of Midsummer (Lihtasblot) at the summer Solstice
,and the festival of Jul (Yule),at the Winter Solstice .There are other
minor festivals that are celebrated in between these four major ones,
listed below.
